A typical In-Person session lasts for about 50 minutes and will begin with a short chat, to:
• Answer your questions about Reiki,
• Help you understand how Reiki works and what to expect,
• Get an understanding of what is going on for you and what you hope to get out of the session . This helps me to set the intention for the Reiki treatment.
We will chat about whether you would prefer hands-on or hands-off. Hands-on means that I will very lightly touch certain parts of your body, (back of head, knees, ankles, feet). My hands will hover over the other parts of your body, (or all of it, if you prefer hands-off.)
You do not need to remove any clothes, (except your shoes).
Reiki usually takes place on a massage table, if getting onto the table is difficult or uncomfortable for you, we will be able to accommodate your needs with a chair detracting from the experience.
The universal energy starts to flow as soon as the treatment starts and will continue until the end of the treatment. The feeling of well-being can last for several weeks.
It is not unusual to fall asleep or enter the ‘Reiki zone’ from intense relaxation. When the session is over you will be offered a glass of water and reminded to drink water throughout the day and invited to ask questions or make comments about your treatment.
A typical Distant Reiki Session commences once your booking is made. I will be in touch regarding the online app of your choice (my preference is ZOOM or WhatsApp), the best time for your treatment and what is going on for you and what you hope to get out of the session.
At the appointment time we will log in and meet online. You can be anywhere you wish, in bed, in a chair, on the floor, the only expectation is that you will be somewhere you feel comfortable and safe. (I once had a client who was going to lay on a grassy spot somewhere between her work and her university, but I was concerned that it may not be safe and that my focus would be more on her safety than the Reiki.)
The universal energy starts to flow as soon as the treatment starts and will continue until it ends, usually around 50 minutes, the feeling of wellbeing can last for several weeks. It is important to remember to drink water after a session. .
